make the quote mark you have to assume that it's going to be absolutely huge so I'm going to draw a large text box over here at the side I'm gonna make a quote mark symbol the command a to highlight that all come up here and pick my Oswald bold font I've already given you a hint that it's four hundred and eighty four points tall and I can't see it and that's because the size of the frame that needs to hold that quote mark is going to be absolutely huge so if I go back with the black arrow tool I can now see that this is how big I allowed four which looks like it's enough but it's not if I come down here and find the very bottom right corner of that box and pull a little bit wider and taller I'm suddenly gonna see it and that's great but one thing we're also gonna realize is that the built in quote mark has too much space between them compared to what they actually used this is a pretty common thing I'm gonna come back and I'm actually gonna delete the double quote mark hmm and I'm gon...

Proofreading marks, or editing symbols, are universal marks that are hand-written on a piece of writing to indicate errors. Separate proofreading marks exist for errors in punctuation, spelling, capitalization, and formatting making it easier for the writer to identify and later correct the errors.
A caret shows where an additional or corrected or substituted letter, word, or phrase is to be inserted in or above the line.
What punctuation should be used when words are inserted or altered in a direct quotation? When writers insert or alter words in a direct quotation, square brackets—[ ]—are placed around the change.
Within quotations, use square brackets [ ] (not parentheses) to add your own clarification, comment, or correction. Use [sic] (meaning “so” or “thus”) to indicate that a mistake is in the source you're quoting and is not your own.
The proofreader will insert whatever punctuation symbol you're missing. The up arrow is used for inserting marks at the bottom of the word, such as a semicolon or comma. The down arrow is used for an apostrophe or single quotation mark.
Proofreading marks (also called proofreaders' marks) are symbols and notations for correcting typeset pages. The proofreader places these marks in the margins and in corresponding lines of text. A slash separates marginal marks that appear on the same line.

A double underline indicates that a letter should be capitalized. A single line through a letter means that it should be made lower-case. A line with a curl at the end indicates a letter, word, or group of words should be deleted.
Words can be added or changed to a quote by using brackets. Changes can be used to correct tense or to add necessary information. Brackets can also be used to make the pronouns in a quote consistent. However, brackets should not be used to change the meaning of the quote.
