Here's how you can see and track what changed when the presentation comes back to you. To track the changes that the reviewer of your Microsoft PowerPoint presentation made, you'll need these two things: A copy of the source file. A copy of the reviewed file.
How to Track Changes in Microsoft PowerPoint Open the reviewed file. Select the Review tab, and in the Compare group, select Compare . From the dialog box, locate the original copy, select it, and click Merge . The Comments and Revisions panes will open on the right, showing changes and any inserted comments.
In your Word, PowerPoint, or Excel file, click File >Info > Protect (Document, Presentation, or Workbook) > Mark as Final.

The most likely answer is that someone placed the items on the slide master or one of the layouts. Only placeholders on a master or layout are editable on the slides. Select the problem slide, then choose View>Slide Master. The layout for the slide will appear.
