Open the report in Crystal and change the default printer settings. To do this, go to File Page Setup in the dialogue that opens, change the Size dropdown from Letter to A4.

Use 1- or 1-1/2-inch margins for all four margins of the report. You might want to use a 1-1/2-inch margin at the top and 1-inch margins for the left, right, and bottom.
Margins. Margins are the blank spaces that line the top, bottom, and left and right sides of a document. They are important because they help make a document look neat and professional. To change margins, click on the Margins button, found on the Page Layout tab.
Change Height and Width of Crystal Reports in Visual Studio Open the Crystal Report in Design View and then right click and select Design then Page Setup option from the Context menu. Inside the Page Setup window, you will see options to set the Height and Width of Crystal Reports in Pixels, Inches and Centimeters.

Resolution In Crystal Reports, right click on the field you want to dynamically resize based on the number of characters it displays, and select Size and Position In the window: Object Size and Position, set the Width to be small, like: 0.1.
