A book proposal is a document designed to convince publishing houses to publish a book. Though a book proposal does not contain the entire book, it attempts to present a brief summary of the central book idea, sample chapters on the subject matter, and a marketing plan for the proposed book.
The introduction should do all of these things: articulate the current state of the field. place the volume within the relevant literature. outline its many clear contributions to the field. explain what each chapter will do to further those contributions.
They want to see if your story premise might have mainstream media potential or the ability to land major interviews that will lead to sales. If you have little or no platform, and your story is lyrical, quiet, or literary, then you should try to target agents and publishers who dont require a proposal.

Use A Standard Font (Times New Roman or Arial) They both work great. Dont use anything else for your manuscript. Note: your actual book may end up with a different font. There are some fonts that read better in book format.
