were in Microsoft Word 2016 Im going to show you how to put a footer into a document so weve got one of my college documents open here and in a previous video we went ahead and added a header so lets go ahead and add a footer which is going to be at the bottom of the screen so lets go to the insert tab and we will click on footer and we can add in any particular one we want lets just go ahead and scroll down a little bit and well choose this viewmaster one all right so theres our viewmaster it went ahead and put a page number there and its going to put the date in and here we can put at the bottom lab one and then the class number so lets go ahead here to the close header and click close and now we can see when we scroll down weve got exactly what we put in there and we did not put the data in but we can do that actually in a few seconds here and weve got the lab etc etc so lets go back in and make a change to our footer and were going to go ahead and go back in and this

Double click in the footer you want to change. Now just change the text, and it won't be linked to the previous footer.
Answer:Select the Insert tab in the toolbar at the top of the screen. Then click on the Footer button in the Header & Footer group. Select Edit Footer from the popup menu. The footer section should now be editable.
