Next, the editor will find and contact other researchers who are experts in your field, and will ask them to review the paper. A minimum of two independent reviewers is normally required for every research article. The aims and scope of each journal will outline their peer review policy in detail.
Differences between journal editors and peer reviewers Reviewers have often been described as the indispensable heart or engine of the peer review process. Editors, on the other hand, have been described in naval terms, as the captains (or even admirals) of the publication process.
The only purpose of a peer review is to upgrade and polish the standard of a journal article, whereas paper editing aims to improve the quality of the article in terms of structuring the article, removing any grammatical and punctuation errors, etc.
If you are unsure whether or not an article is peer reviewed, you must look at the journal rather than the article. One of the best places to find out if a journal is peer-reviewed is the journal website. Most publications have a journal website that includes information for authors about the publication process.
Peer Editing / Review is an evaluative understanding level activity in which student judge the accuracy, credibility, value, etc. of the work of other students.
What is the difference between peer review and paper editing? To put it shortly, paper editing is reading and evaluating a manuscript and providing constructive feedback for your journal article. A peer review is a review done by more or less independent scholars of the same field to assess the quality of work.
Peer-reviewed (or refereed) journals Peer-reviewed or refereed journals have an editorial board of subject experts who review and evaluate submitted articles before accepting them for publication. A journal may be a scholarly journal but not a peer-reviewed journal.
After an article is submitted to a journal, a journal editor screens the manuscript and decides whether or not to send it for full peer review. Only after clearing the initial screening is the article sent to two or more independent peer reviewers .
