hi my name is dave andrews today im going to show you how to edit a bin file lets go to our computer and a bin file is basically a binary file that you cant open with any kind of textedit or anything like that what we need to use to edit that is a program called xvi which is a free hex editing program its really only for sort of advanced users who know exactly what they want to type because youre going to be dealing entirely in binary and you have to know a little bit about what youre seeing and what you want just search google for xvi and here as you can see is the freeware hex editor xvi just scroll down actually click on download and then you can download it from here i already have it downloaded and installed so on my desktop ill just open up that program and i want to now open up my bin file inside the hex header lets go to file open if i go to my desktop i have one here called assets.bin as i open this up as you can see what im seeing is the binary data thats stored in
