Lets walk through the construction process step by step. Step 1: The Development and Planning Phase. Step 2: The Pre-Design Phase. Step 3: The Design Phase. Step 4: The Pre-Construction Phase. Step 5: The Procurement Phase. Step 6: The Construction Phase. Step 7: The Post-Construction Phase.
The construction process is the detailed steps required to complete your construction project. This process can be broken down into five phases planning/design, pre-construction, procurement, construction, and post-construction. Depending on the size and scope of the project, each phase has its own set of challenges.
Phases of construction Phase 1. Closure of the building site. Phase 2. Land and foundation. Phase 3. The structure of the construction. Phase 4. Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Phase 5. Insulation and waterproofing. Phase 6. Finishes and closures.
Heres the process: Step 1: Design. During this phase, the client places a project for bidding. Step 2: Pre-Construction. Step 3: Procurement. Step 4: Construction. Step 5: Commissioning. Step 6: Owner Occupancy. Step 7: Project Closeout.
The major sequences of construction are marking, excavation, concreting, brick masonry, roof laying, flooring and finishing.
Classic examples of change orders include the owners desire to move the location of a wall to accommodate some other design element, adding a window where there was none in the original plans, or changing the finish of the floors from tile to terrazzo.
Lets break them down. Conception (aka planning and development) Planning and development, sometimes called project conception, is the very beginning of the construction process. Design. Preconstruction. Procurement. Construction. Post construction.
The five phases of the construction project lifecycle are: Project Initiation and Conception. Like with all things, the first step to the construction life cycle is merely to begin. Project Planning and Definition. Project Execution and Launch. Project Performance. Project Close.
