hi guys welcome to the short video about the question if you can or how we can add interactive check lists or check boxes to google docs so here we are at google docs with a new document and i have a small list and i want like thats a shopping list and i want to add check boxes which i can use i mean if i have 100 items which i use on a regular base and sometimes i have to buy sometimes i dont have to buy so i could reuse the list and just check uh the one the things which i have to buy lets say this week so how to add that so we can mark the whole thing here which where we want to add check boxes and go here to the bulleted list sometimes it changes a little bit so here currently it looks like its in this bulleted list and we have these check boxes here so looks like normal checkbox the problem is just that we cannot use them as normal and a lot of people say yeah we cannot do anything with that and but it seems like we can use them just its a little bit cumbersome you can mark

In the top navigation of Google Docs select Insert. Then select Special Characters. Then search for Check. There are several icons for checkboxes both checked and not checked.
On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Select the cells that you want to have tick boxes for. Data validation. Next to Criteria, choose Tick box.
Click the object or text box. Format options. At the right, click Size Position. Make changes to the object or text box.
How to Check Checkboxes Left clicking on the checklist will select every box. Left click the same box again to select it individually. Right click, and select the check icon as seen below. Youll have to do this for every checkbox you want to check off.

If you wish to turn a checkbox into a check, heres what you need to do: Highlight a checkbox by clicking on it. Right-click on your mouse, if youre using a Mac, you can use Ctrl + click. Within the popup menu, click on the checkmark. That particular item on the list will now be checked.
With the items selected, now just go up to the toolbar and click on the Checklist button to apply the new formatting. You will now have a checkbox at the beginning of each item. If you click on a checkbox it will check the box and cross off the text for that item with strikethrough formatting.
Heres how you can do that: Click on a bullet next to your bulleted list item. This selects all the bullets in your list. Right-click on the bullet to open a popup menu. Finally, click on the checkbox button in the popup menu. And your list turns into a checklist.
