welcome to another retro nas video uh in this video were going to look at neta talk which is an open source implementation of afp the apple filer protocol and apple talk and well see how those work on some new macs and some old macs okay as always i have ssh to my retronaz raspberry pi run the retron as tool from the things menu im going to choose net a talk 3 to start with so ill demonstrate the newer of the two systems net a talk 3 is afp apple filing protocol but only over tcp it doesnt do apple talk the old apple protocol at all so well see how that performs ive got two macs here i can test on ive got an apple imac g5 running mac os mac os x 10.5 and ive got an older imac the crt imax and thats running mac os 9.2 the pre os x max so well see how both of these perform under net a talk 3 and then well compare with the older protocol so lets net atop 3 to start with okay so back on my uh trusty g5 imac look at the model there power pc g5 uh running mac os 10 5 so again
