As per the guidelines of the Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI), the user needs to update it only twice.

However, the verifier must have the same address registered in their Aadhaar card. UIDAI sends Address validation letter to the address verifier.
The update request can be rejected due to one of the following reasons; Wrong Address Proof/Identity Proof document uploaded. Address Proof/Identity Proof document is not self-attested. Transliteration error.
Aadhaar updation takes up to 90 days. If your update request is more than 90 days old, then Please dial 1947 (toll free) or write to help@uidai.gov.in for further assistance.
You can update your Address online in Self Service Update Portal (SSUP). For other details updates such as Demographic details (Name, Address, DoB, Gender, Mobile Number, Email) as well as Biometrics (Finger Prints, Iris Photograph) in Aadhaar you will have to visit Permanent Enrolment Center.
Step 1: Go to UIDAIs official website. Step 2: Under the My Aadhaar page, select Request for Address Validation Letter. Step 3: Log in using your Aadhar Virtual ID or Aadhaar number. Step 4: You must input the Aadhaar ID of your verifier.
Aadhaar letter/card or the e-Aadhaar (an electronically generated letter from the website of UIDAI), as the case may be, will be accepted as Proof of Address (POA) and Proof of Photo-Identity (POI) for availing passport related services.
Go to your local post office and request the Movers Guide packet. Inside the packet is PS Form 3575. Fill out this change of address form and give it to a postal worker behind the counter. You should receive a confirmation letter at your new address in five business days.
The package will either be redirected to your new recipient, held at a local Post Office for pick up, or returned to you to be re-sent with the correct information.
Utility Bills (water, electricity, phone or gas bill) If you dont have any other proof of residence, then utility bills which are not older than 3 months, can come in handy. But make sure that your name on the document along with which you are enclosing the utility bill matches the name on the bill.
