Add a DRAFT watermark Choose Layout Watermark. In the Insert Watermark box, select Text, and then choose DRAFT.
Open the document you want to mark as final, click File and then select Info from the left pane. Click the Protect Document button and then choose Mark as Final from the menu. Click OK when Word warns you that the document will be marked as final and then saved.
A draft document is a document that is not finalized. Microsoft Word uses watermarks to mark documents as drafts. The watermark may be a text or an image. Watermarks appear in the background of a page and are visible in Web, Print and Reading Layout views.
To print a draft, follow these steps: Display the Word Options dialog box. At the left side of the dialog box click Advanced. Scroll through the available options until you see the Print section. Make sure the Use Draft Quality check box is selected. Click on OK. Print your document.
Just change the view by clicking View tab | Print Layout view. Then you have to edit the document, for example add and delete a space, after which you should save. The next time you open the document, it should be in Print Layout view.
On the Design tab, select Watermark. In the Insert Watermark dialog, select Text and either type your own watermark text or select one, like DRAFT, from the list. Then, customize the watermark by setting the font, layout, size, colors, and orientation. If you dont see the watermark, click View Print Layout.
To print a draft, follow these steps: Display the Word Options dialog box. At the left side of the dialog box click Advanced. Scroll through the available options until you see the Print section. Make sure the Use Draft Quality check box is selected. Click on OK. Print your document.
To print, open Control Panel Hardware and Sound View Devices and Printers, right-click a printer, and select Printing Preferences. Next, select Quality. Look for a Draft or Fast option and select it to use the quick print option. Then select Apply or OK.
Draft view can be considered a pared down version of the Print Layout view. It allows you to generally see how your text will appear on paper. This means you can see what each line will look like, how the text appears, and where the lines will break. You can also see where each page will break.
A draft is generated from a Template when you click on either New Delivery From Template of which allows you to choose a template. This will then generate a draft which completely detaches itself from the Template.
