in addition to being able to upload files from a local location such as your shared network drive or desktop we can also create files right from our onedrive without having to leave the browser when you click on the new button in onedrive you can create a new folder such as annual reports click create then youve got your new folder or you can create files such as a new word document excel or powerpoint now when i click word notice it doesnt open word on my desktop it opens up in another browser window and this way i can create the document and its already connected to my onedrive so that as im making changes to the document itself its actually saving in real time notice it goes from saving to saved pretty quickly and thats because its basically created from and syncing immediately to my onedrive now you may notice my menu looks a little bit different than yours may at first and thats because you have the option on the lower right hand corner of the ribbon menu up there in all
