- On a previous video, I showed you how to filter a table by the latest record, by group. And that method works. Nothing wrong with it, but I think Ive found a way to do it more effectively at least with less steps. So let me show you. So the previous method, theres nothing wrong with it. I recommend you to test both. You never know with performance. So if this method is not working very well, go to the other method. It will be linked in the description below. Test that instead. Lets get into the method. So we have the employees table that we had on the previous example. This is download 67. Go and grab that, same file. And what we have here is three employees that have had different positions over time. So you see the date and the new position. And what you want to do is analysis on the latest one. You dont care about the positions that they had before. You just want to have the latest record of each employee. So were going to Transform, Group By, employee ID. We get the unique

In the database structured query language (SQL), the DELETE statement removes one or more records from a table.
Dropping a table removes the table definition from the data dictionary. All rows of the table are no longer accessible. All indexes and triggers associated with a table are dropped. All views and PL/SQL program units dependent on a dropped table remain, yet become invalid (not usable).
By far, the fastest way to delete a bunch of records is to use the TRUNCATE TABLE statement. This is much faster than the DELETE statement because it does not log any of the row-level delete operations. However, you can only use TRUNCATE TABLE : To delete ALL the records in the table.
We can use DELETE statement along with a WHERE clause, which identifies those multiple rows, to delete multiple rows from MySQL table.
Now if you delete from view then it will automatically delete from base table as well.
To delete every row in a table: Use the DELETE statement without specifying a WHERE clause. With segmented table spaces, deleting all rows of a table is very fast. Use the TRUNCATE statement. The TRUNCATE statement can provide the following advantages over a DELETE statement: Use the DROP TABLE statement.
DELETE FROM tablename WHERE columnname BETWEEN value 1 AND value 2; Another way to delete multiple rows is to use the IN operator. DELETE FROM tablename WHERE columnname IN (value 1, value 2, value 3, etc); If you want to delete all records from the table then you can use this syntax.
The Syntax for Using the SQL Delete Command WHERE [condition]; The table from which we want to delete rows is specified in the tablename parameter of the DELETE FROM statement. There is an optional WHERE clause in which we can specify the condition ing to which the rows should get deleted.
When you delete a row, you remove the entire row. The DELETE statement does not remove specific columns from the row. The result of the DELETE statement is the removal of zero or more rows of a table, depending on how many rows satisfy the search condition specified in the WHERE clause.
To delete an entire record/row from a table, enter delete from followed by the table name, followed by the where clause which contains the conditions to delete. If you leave off the where clause, all records will be deleted.
