I want to look at formatting zip codes and Google sheets when you have a zip code that begins with a digit other than zero all five digits display fine but when you have a zip code that starts with a zero and you enter in a Google sheet once you leave the cell the zero will not display that leading zero so you can use custom number formats to force it display first select the cells you want to format this way and from the format menu choose number more formats and then custom number format at the very bottom there and up in the custody custom number format box you want to enter five zeros and this is going to force these cells to display all five digits you enter choose apply and then youll see that thats the code I had previously entered now shows the zero so this is a great trick for forcing a specific format on your cells again format number more formats custom number format

Universal POST*CODE DataBase A world postcode database containing the postcodes of 192 member countries. Use the POST*CODE DataBase to look up, validate, cleanse or customize (by geographical region or country) addresses worldwide.
There is no universally accepted address format. In nearly every country, the address format differs. Even if these differences seem small, they can play a big role in whether or not your mail makes it to the intended recipient.
A United States postal code, for example, might be either five digits or five digits followed a hyphen (dash) and another four digits (12345-1234). If you are validating US postal codes, allow for both conditions. The following rule validates a field that can be five digits, five digits + dash + 4 digits, or blank.
LINE 1: ADDRESSEES FULL LEGAL NAME. LINE 2: STREET ADDRESS OR POST OFFICE BOX NUMBER. LINE 3: CITY OR TOWN NAME, OTHER PRINCIPAL SUBDIVISION (i.e. PROVINCE, STATE, COUNTY, ETC.) AND POSTAL CODE (IF KNOWN) (Note: in some countries, the postal code may precede the city or town name)
The international address is made up of 4 sections: name, street address, city/province/postal code, and country. Each of these 4 sections has specific rules and requirements that if not met can invalidate your label and even prevent delivery.
Recipients name. Businesss name (if applicable) Street address (with apartment or suite number) City, State and ZIP code (on the same line)*
