Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV. Im going to show you how to create a custom, intertwined, monogram logo centered on a simple, but powerful background. If the middle initial of the monogram is larger than the other two, the middle initial is the surname or last name. The first initial is the first name and the last initial is the middle name. However, if all the initials are the same size, the order of the initials represents the first, middle and last name. I provided a link to a website that explains the general rules pertaining to monograms. The link is located in the video description. Create a new document by pressing Ctrl + N on Windows or Cmd + N on a Mac. Make the Width: 1200 pixels, the Height: 900 pixels and the Resolution: 300 pixels per inch. Make the Color Mode: RGB at 8 bits per channel. Then click OK. Lets begin by making the background first. Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Linear gradient icon is highlighted. If you are following the traditional initial order, the last name initial will be the largest and in the center, with the first and middle name on the left and right. If you keep both your maiden name and your last name, then your middle name can be substituted with your maiden name in the initials.
One of the most common ways to monogram a name with four letters is to have all four letters in a row in order First, Middle, Middle, Last, or, for example, MSXW. For this type of monogram, sometimes called a block monogram, all the letters are the same size and are usually in an unembellished font.
Initials are normally written in the same size. Monograms appear in the order of First Initial, Last Initial, Middle Initial. So my monogram would be CSL. Monograms are normally written with the last name initial larger than the first and middle initials.
For an individual, the order of initials is the first name, last name, and middle name. The last name initial (center) is larger than those on either side.
A monogram is a small embroidery of 2 or 3 initials from your name. Originally monograms helped identify shirts when you took them to get laundered. Men today monogram their shirts to give them an additional level of personalization.
A monogram is a motif made by overlapping or combining two or more letters or other graphemes to form one symbol. Monograms are often made by combining the initials of an individual or a company, used as recognizable symbols or logos.
A personal monogram consists of three initials (first, middle and last names).
If using two initials, an individual monogram traditionally consists of first name and last name (surname) initials. Both initials should be same size. This format is also used for someone who does not have a middle name.
Monogram rules for three letters Traditionally, the first letters of their first, last and middle name are used, in that order. For couples, if they share their last name, the last name remains in the middle with the initials of their first names on the left and right side.
