so periodically i see that restaurant groups have applications in their restaurants or a link to an online application that asks the candidate for their date of birth or their social security number and you really shouldnt have those things listed on the application so i would check your applications and make sure you dont have those listed and if you do i would remove them right away also there is a law called ban the box and this law essentially doesnt allow employers to ask the candidate to check a box saying whether or not theyve been convicted of a crime theres a whole lot of states and cities across the country that require that you remove this box im going to add a link to this video and you should check your state and see if the law is in effect and if it is i would remove that immediately from the application as well thank you

If you discover a major factual error after you apply, its best to resubmit your application. Employers will keep your resume on file even if you are not hired, and they often go back through their records to find candidates for open roles.
Many people withdraw job applications once they realize that the position isnt right for them. While withdrawing an application might mean you cant apply to the same job again, canceling an application effectively and professionally can allow you to reapply to the company in the future if you want to.
You can reapply for a job whether the company has reposted the job listing or because youve improved your application materials, but keep your options open by applying to other positions. You may find different jobs youre more qualified for or that you may enjoy more.
On the other hand, if you feel the need to be honest, you might also get away with something short and light like: Dear [recruiters name]: My perfectionist nature would not allow me to overlook the fact that the resume I submitted contained a small mistake. Im now attaching an updated copy of my resume.
