If you receive the error message cant delete font because its in use you can fix the problem by unchecking the details pane in the fonts folder of the control panel. If that doesnt work you will need to go into the Registry Editor and delete the font file directly.
How can you uninstall fonts in Windows? Open Settings Personalisation. Select fonts in the left side panel. Search for or select the font to be uninstalled. Uninstall your font. Note: System fonts may not be uninstalled.
In Control Panel, type Fonts in the search box at the top right. Under Fonts, click Preview, delete, or show and hide fonts. Select the font that you want to remove, and then click Delete.
Another way to delete a font file on Windows: Change the font filename (and extension). Log out of Windows. Log in again. Delete the font file.
If you try to delete a Windows system font, you will see a message Font cannot be deleted because it is a protected system font. It is best not to delete system fonts, but should you wish to then you need to take ownership, boot into Safe Mode and then use the Registry method described above in this post.
