Hello Folks. In this video, we are going to take a look at how to delete topics in HelpNDoc. Topics can easily be added and organized in the table of contents but, over time, they can become obsolete or unwanted. Deleting them from your HelpNDoc project takes just a few clicks. Note that when you delete a topic, its content is deleted as well as its children topics. Let me show you what we mean. You have 2 methods to choose from when deleting a topic. Here using method 1, click the topic that youd like to delete. This then highlights that topic in your table of contents. Now, click Delete in the Table of contents section of the Home ribbon tab to remove the topic. This displays a message confirming that you want to delete the selected topic and its children. enable is set to the default false instead of true. If that is the case, Kafka will refuse to delete topics. This is easily fixed by changing this setting to true and restarting the brokers.
To delete a Kafka topic, we need to provide the mandatory parameters. If Kafka v2.2+, use the Kafka hostname and port e.g., localhost:9092. If older version of Kafka, use the Zookeeper URL and port e.g. localhost:2181. Use the kafka-topics.sh CLI with the --delete option.
The utility Kafka-topics.sh is recommended when deleting Kafka topics. If you do not know how to or use Kafka utils, you can refer to How to view Kafka messages. After hitting enter, Kafka will receive the order to delete the topic in concertation with Zookeeper.
You can use the bin/kafka-delete-records.sh command to delete the bad data from Kafka. This command allows you to delete all the records from the beginning of a partition, until the specified offset. Given the example log entry above, the details of the record to be deleted are for partition Topic0-0 at offset 2.
To delete the topic manually: Shutdown Kafka. On all Kafka brokers that have replicas for hgpo. llo. prmt. processed , go to their data directory and delete the folders starting with hgpo. llo. prmt. Connect to Zookeeper with the zookeeper-shell tool. Run: rmr /brokers/topics/hgpo. llo. prmt. processed. Restart Kafka.
First, log into the Zookeeper CLI console using the proper zkCli.sh file, youll find this in the bin directory in your Zookeeper installation. Now if you try to get the topic using the previous command, itll throw an error. And thats it, youre done. The topic is now deleted.
To delete a Kafka topic, we need to provide the mandatory parameters. If you have a recent version of Kafka, we strongly recommend you to use the command with the --bootstrap-server option because the Zookeeper option is now deprecated and is removed as part of Kafka v3.
By default in Kafka version 0.10, delete. topic. enable is false. To be able to delete topics, you need to set delete.
Delete topics In order to delete a topic, your cluster must have been created with the configuration delete. topic. enable=true . This is not the default, meaning that by default you cannot delete any topics on a cluster.
How to Delete a Kafka Topic? If Kafka v2.2+, use the Kafka hostname and port e.g., localhost:9092. If older version of Kafka, use the Zookeeper URL and port e.g. localhost:2181. Use the kafka-topics.sh CLI with the --delete option. Ensure that the Kafka brokers allow for topic deletion delete.topic.enable=true (default)
