In this tutorial, Chip Wood demonstrates how to eliminate formatting in Pages and Word documents for easier text editing. To do this, he suggests using the command A to select all, command C to copy, and then paste the text into TextEdit or a new document. Then, go to the format and select "make plain text" or use command shift T. If there is a pop-up that says duplicate or overwrite, select overwrite. Afterward, select all, copy, collapse the document, delete, paste into a new document in Pages or Word using command V. This will give you a document free of formatting.
