Today we will be discussing Managed Folders and the new Retention Features for Microsoft Outlook. Retention Policies are part of the Messaging Records Management Technology available with Microsoft Exchange. Retention policies allow users to retain messages, and prevent them from being archived or deleted as they will remain within the users account. By default, retention for the inbox is one year, Sent is 2 years, And deleted items is 60 days. Recently, with the move to Microsoft Office 365, a new feature called Retention Tags has been added. Retention tags allow you to tag any folder, subfolder, or email with the same retention policies previously available for managed folders. Please note that all current Managed Folders have already been tagged with the corresponding retention tags.
