The drop table command is used to delete a table and all rows in the table. To delete an entire table including all of its rows, issue the drop table command followed by the tablename.
The basic syntax of the command is as follows: DROP [TEMPORARY] TABLE [IF EXISTS] table_name [, table_name] [RESTRICT | CASCADE]; Let's break down the syntax: The DROP TABLE statement deletes a table and its rows permanently.
When you delete a table, any indexes on that table are also deleted. If you have DynamoDB Streams enabled on the table, then the corresponding stream on that table goes into the DISABLED state, and the stream is automatically deleted after 24 hours. Use the DescribeTable action to check the status of the table.
