To delete a table from a database, first, list all tables in the database by using the "show tables" command. Then, create a new table by using the "create table" command and define the columns. Verify the table structure by using the "describe" command. To delete the table, use the "drop table" command followed by the table name. After dropping the table, verify that it has been deleted by listing all tables again.

The LOCATION in Amazon S3 specifies all of the files representing your table. Athena reads all data stored in the Amazon S3 folder that you specify. If you have data that you do not want Athena to read, do not store that data in the same Amazon S3 folder as the data that you do want Athena to read.
The answer is that you cannot replace the AMI for an existing EC2 instance. However, you can replace the root volume with a new volume which is basically the same thing. That new root volume can come from another EC2 instance.
To remove all data from an existing table, use the SQL TRUNCATE TABLE order. You can also use the DROP TABLE command to delete an entire table. But Truncate will remove the entire table structure from the database, and you will need to recreate the table if you want to store any data.

You can leverage Athena to find out all the files that you want to delete and then delete them separately. There is a special variable "$path". To automate this, you can have iterator on Athena results and then get filename and delete them from S3.
You cannot truncate a table in Athena, the table is more like a logical representation of the data that will be retrieved from your datasource. Everytime you perform the query, data is loaded from your datasource and then translated to match the table schema so that it can be interacted like a SQL table.
