welcome back to my latest video today I want to talk about being a DNR versus being a full code and what that means and kind of the differentiating things between the two I am going to be straight up this is what Ive experienced in the United States I know a lot of people live elsewhere and so Im sure there are different cheating things between the two and maybe there are different other places so this is just what I learned in the United States but basically where I did not see you and when someones a full code that means theyre full code youre going to do everything as long as its within like theyre religiously so for example is your host witnesses typically do not receive blood transfusions and things like that so full code treat everything and basically what the actual full code stands for is if your heart stops we are going to do chest compressions we are going to shock you if needed we are going to give you life-saving medications were gonna intubate you all of those fun

DNR cons include: Arguments can arise if family members disagree about your loved ones decision. A DNR for the community may not apply when your loved one is admitted to the hospital. Some sources suggest that having a DNR can cause risks and the potential for less care for patients.
Can I reverse my DNR orders? Yes. Your DNR orders are in place for as long as you wish them to be; you need only to destroy them if you wish to stop them. You should also contact your doctors office and family if you do so.
The only instance in which a family member can revoke a DNR is when that same family member is also the patients healthcare agent. If the patient authorized that family member to serve as their agent through their Medical Power of Attorney document, then that family member does have the power to cancel the DNR.
A do-not-resuscitate (DNR) order is a legal document that means a person has decided not to have cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) attempted on them if their heart or breathing stops.
A DNR order may be a part of a hospice care plan. The focus of hospice care is not to prolong life, but to treat symptoms such as pain or shortness of breath, and to maintain comfort. If you have a DNR order, you always have the right to change your mind and request CPR.
If you have a DNR on file, family members cannot override the document. If you are incapacitated, a health care agent or legal guardian can agree to file a DNR order on your behalf. If you change your mind, talk to your physician immediately. Your physician must be involved in rescinding a standing DNR order.
Question: What happens if you resuscitate someone with a DNR? If you attempt resuscitation on a person who has a valid DNR order, you open yourself up to lawsuit by the estate (read: family) of the person with the DNR order, especially if the attempt is successful and they are indeed brought back to life.
