You can correct a mistake with an employees pay or deductions by updating the year-to-date figures in your next regular Full Payment Submission ( FPS ). You can also correct it by sending an additional FPS before your next regular FPS is due.
There are two types of RTI submissions you can make as an employer. These are the Full Payment Submission (FPS) and the Employer Payment Summary (EPS).
There is currently no restriction in software OR HMRC about repeat submissions, HOWEVER, what you should do depends on the situation in payroll and what incorrect information has been sent. Important Note: If you do resend any RTI submissions HMRC might recognise these as late, potentially incurring a fine.
Submit the FPS Adjustment Click Payroll, then FPS Adjustment. If youre prompted to select a reason the FPS is late, select H - correction to an earlier submission, then click OK. Click Continue then click Submit. Check the employee details and liability adjustment.
