As of June 2011, the Social Security Number (SSN) is no longer printed on any DoD ID card. These changes are being made by the Department of Defense to protect the personal identity information of cardholders. ID Card Changes: New ID cards will have a DoD ID Number in place of the SSN.
1. Find your DoD ID number by looking on the back of Common Access Card (CAC) for the 10-digit number. If you dont have one on your CAC, go to DoD ID Card Office Online and login to view your profile.
This is done by calling our National 800 number (Toll Free 1-800-772-1213 or at our TTY number at 1-800-325-0778). Once requested, any automated telephone and electronic access to your Social Security record is blocked.
