Signature versus seal In other words, the main difference between a seal and a signature is that a signature is meant for individuals / natural persons, whereas a seal is used by a legal entity (business or organisation) and can be used by more than one person or system within the legal entity.
This is considered an official signature of the company. Any official or legal document that derives from a corporation requires a corporate seal. Traditionally, documents were usually validated through a seal because illiteracy was historically more common.
The common seal is equivalent to a persons signature. As a result, it is important to protect it. If your company possesses a company seal, ensure that you store it in a safe and secure place.
The word SEAL at the end of (or below) a signature line means signature. For example, a mortgage note or Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac Texas Deed of Trust will have (Seal) at the end of the line for the borrowers signature. A persons signature is considered their seal.
Destroy your old seal If you have an ink stamp, the easiest way to destroy it is to use a knife or other sharp object to cut and damage the rubber seal impression so that the stamp no longer makes a usable impression. Embossers are more difficult to destroy because of their metal components.
Usually, a signature is simply someones name written in a stylized fashion. However, that is not really necessary. All that needs to be there is some mark that represents you.
