so periodically i see that restaurant groups have applications in their restaurants or a link to an online application that asks the candidate for their date of birth or their social security number and you really shouldn't have those things listed on the application so i would check your applications and make sure you don't have those listed and if you do i would remove them right away also there is a law called ban the box and this law essentially doesn't allow employers to ask the candidate to check a box saying whether or not they've been convicted of a crime there's a whole lot of states and cities across the country that require that you remove this box i'm going to add a link to this video and you should check your state and see if the law is in effect and if it is i would remove that immediately from the application as well thank you

Most people don't think about it, but it's always a good idea to create a separate email account when beginning your job search.
What you should never put on your resume A career objective. Put simply: A career objective is largely obsolete. ... Your home address. ... Soft skills in a skills section. ... References. ... Stylized fonts. ... High school education. ... Your photograph. ... Company-specific jargon.
Remove these 7 things from your resume 'ASAP,' says CEO who has read more than 1,000 resumes this year Irrelevant hobbies and interests. ... Too many soft skills. ... Your professional headshot. ... Personal pronouns. ... The wrong kind of email. ... Your mailing address (if you're applying out-of-state) ... Job positions older than 10 to 15 years.
Having a gmail account is a sign that you are current, professional, and digitally savvy. Some recruiters and hiring managers will immediately skip over a candidate if they have an AOL/Yahoo/Hotmail account. If you don't already have a Gmail account, now is the time to make the switch.
Withdrawing your job application will not allow you to re-apply for that job. You can only re-activate your original application. Once you have applied for a job opening, the resume and cover letter associated with that job opening cannot be changed.
You can send an email or letter expressing appreciation for the employer's time and consideration, with the option to include a reason such as how the position wasn't a good fit. Or you can call the hiring manager and advise them that you've had a change in circumstances.
The subject line should include your name and “Withdraw Application.” Begin the letter with your salutation followed by a paragraph (or two) stating your intention to withdraw your application from consideration, and thanking them for their time. Close with your name and contact information.
If you've asked yourself, "Do I have to put every job on an application?" the short answer is: No, you don't need to list every single position that you have held on a job application, especially if you have a lengthy employment history.
You do not need to include every job you've ever had on a resume or a job application. Stick to the jobs that are most relevant to the position for which you are applying. If you do need to list every job you've ever had, keep the descriptions short and sweet for the jobs that do not offer relevant experience.
You don't always need to leave it off entirely. You can keep things short on your resume instead. If one of your jobs was 10+ years ago, and has some relevant skills, include it but keep your experience short. For example, just include the job titles, with a maximum of 1-2 bullet points under it.
