hello everyone welcome back in the last video we saw how to create an ami out of an existing ec2 instance and then how do we spin up new ec2 instances using that ami so in this video I'm going to show you how to remove the mi that you have created so this would typically be when you are creating a new ami and you want to delete all array am i sad to have in your account right so first and foremost if you have seen my last video let's just go ahead and terminate our only z2 instance that we had used to create the image out of so click on action go to instance state and terminate so once this gets terminated its corresponding volumes should also get deleted so if you go to volumes you can see there are four volumes and this two volumes should get heated once that easy to is terminated so now let's go to our snapshot and we saw in the last video that EWS creates snapshots belonging to each volume and it creates an ami out of this so let's go ahead and try to delete this snapshot so go to...

You cannot update the AMI on your current instance. You should create a new instance with the CentOS AMI.
Resolution Launch a replacement EC2 instance using Amazon EBS snapshots or Amazon Machine Images (AMI) backups that were created from the terminated Amazon EC2 instance. Attach an EBS volume from the terminated instance to another EC2 instance. You can then access the data contained in those volumes.
By default, you can terminate your instance using the Amazon EC2 console, command line interface, or API. To prevent your instance from being accidentally terminated using Amazon EC2, you can enable termination protection for the instance.
You cant delete a snapshot of the root device of an EBS volume used by a registered AMI. You must first deregister the AMI before you can delete the snapshot. For more information, see Deregister your AMI. You cant delete a snapshot that is managed by the Amazon Backup service using Amazon EC2.
A snapshot is of an EBS volume where you are able to save state and reboot with the same data at a certain point in time. An AMI is similar, but its for the EC2 instances themselves. You cannot take a snapshot of a non-ebs backed instance, but you can create an AMI (system image) of one.
You cant delete a snapshot of the root device of an EBS volume used by a registered AMI. You must first deregister the AMI before you can delete the snapshot. For more information, see Deregister your AMI. You cant delete a snapshot that is managed by the AWS Backup service using Amazon EC2.
The Ctrl+Z Function to Undo Accidental Deleted Files. A lot of people dont understand the importance of this simple command Ctrl+Z which can undo any previous instantly deleted files. While you accidentally deleted a file or folder on the computer hard disk drive, you can retrieve the files back by click Ctrl+Z.
An AMI includes the following: One or more snapshots. Instance-store-backed AMIs include a template for the root volume of the instance (for example, an operating system, an application server, and applications). Launch permissions that control which AWS accounts can use the AMI to launch instances.
Open the Amazon EC2 console at . From the navigation bar, select the Region in which to launch your instances. In the navigation pane, choose AMIs. (Optional) Use the filter and search options to scope the list of displayed AMIs to see only the AMIs that match your criteria.
Restore the AMI from an EBS snapshot When you delete or deregister an Amazon EBS-backed AMI, any snapshots created for the volume of the instance during the AMI creation process are retained. If you accidentally delete the AMI, you can launch an identical AMI using one of the retained snapshots.
