ABOUT THE HWB PROGRAM The $1.3 billion HWB program, enacted in the states fiscal year 2023 budget, will provide eligible workers who have annual base salaries less than $125,000, and will remain in their positions for at least six months.
Qualified employees who work at least 35 hours per week are eligible for a bonus of $1,500.
Workers who provide hands-on care earning less than $125,000 annually are eligible to receive up to $3,000 in bonuses from their employers. Qualified employees must continuously work at the same healthcare facility for the duration of at least six months.
Bonus Requirements Qualified employees who work at least 20 hours but no more than 30 hours per week are eligible for a bonus of $500; Qualified employees who work at least 30 hours but no more than 35 hours per week are eligible for a bonus of $1,000; and.
Is the bonus considered taxable income? A. Bonus payments paid to a New York State (NYS) resident are not subject to NYS personal income tax.
