Welcome back to the MrExcel netcast, Im Bill Jelen. Another question from the road, and this is one that kind of stumped me when they asked it-- no one had ever asked me before. When we use Subtotals-- Data, Subtotals, At each change in Customer, Add the Subtotal here-- of course, we get the Group Outline buttons over there, and I always talk about how the #2 button is a great view of the data; #3 shows all the detal rows; but #1, its kind of silly-- I dont even understand the perpose. Who would add Subtotals just so that we can see a Grand Total? And someone said, Well, why dont you get rid of the #1 button and, you know, obviously you cant right-click it or anything like that, but it turns out what we need to do is select everything from the Grand Total row, all the way up to the top. And then do Data, Group, and then Ungroup, and what it does is it gets rid of the outermost level, and now we just have two buttons-- the 1 shows us the Customer totals, the 2 shows us the detai

Ungroup controls Select the group that you want to ungroup. For more information, see Select or deselect controls on a worksheet. Right-click the selection, point to Grouping, and then click Ungroup. To continue ungrouping, click Yes when the message box appears.
Deselect a Radio Button Click Add New Action, select JavaScript. Under Layout Layout Options tab, make sure the option to Use Default Browser Icons for Radio Buttons and Checkboxes is checked as this Javascript only works on default browser icons. Test to make sure it works!
To do so, right-click the radio button and select Edit Text. If you want to make Excel radio buttons really stand out, you can apply colors and borders. Right-click one of the radio buttons, go to Format Control, and open the Colors and lines tab.
Press ESC twice, to unselect control; Point the mouse cursor on base Option Button and press Right Click. This will select the control and open a small menu; Press ESC once.
See Show the Developer tab. If one or more controls is an ActiveX control, do the following: Make sure that you are in design mode. Select the control or controls that you want to delete. For more information, see Select or deselect controls on a worksheet. Press DELETE.
Bonus tips. How to Delete a Radio Button Open the PDF file, and select Add or Edit Fields from the Forms menu. Then, the Forms toolbar will appear. Select the radio button that you want to delete. It will be highlighted when selected. Press the Delete button on your keyboard or press Delete from the Edit menu.
As you add each radio button you could right-click on it and display its properties. One of the properties is GroupName; change this to something like Pin1, Pin2, etc. As long as each radio button uses a different group name, they will be considered independent of each other.
Deleting Radio Buttons in Excel Go to Home Editing Find Select Selection Pane. Select all the radio buttons that you want to delete (to select multiple radio buttons, hold the control key while selecting) and hit the delete key.
