hi there and welcome to implementation guru my name is cameron and on todays video were going to talk about the contact deletion function in salesforce marketing cloud so to start with salesforce marketing cloud uses the concept of contacts to store a record of the customers that you bring into the platform and just as you have reasons to subscribe them to the platform youll also have reasons to remove them from the platform as well such as the customer requesting to have their data deleted from your systems as part of the gdpr laws for example the other factor to consider is that the contacts are a billable line item in your salesforce marketing cloud contract what this means is that your marketing cloud instance has been provisioned with a limited amount of contacts and if you go over that threshold youll have to purchase additional contacts from your salesforce marketing cloud account executive so for this reason its a good idea to keep on top of your total account contact usag

Delete a Subscriber from Marketing Cloud Hover over Subscribers. Click Subscribers. Click the name of the list that contains the subscriber to delete. Click Search. To choose from the supported search fields, click Search where. In the Is equal to field, enter the subscribers data for the selected search field.
You can delete a contact if youre an administrator, the contact owner, or a user above the contact owner in the organization role hierarchy, and if you have the Delete permission on the Contact object.
Keep in mind that in SFMC, all contacts on your All Subscribers list count toward your contracted contact amount, not just your active subscribers. If you have a large number of bad/undeliverable emails, those count. If you have a large number of unsubscribed emails, those count.
How do I delete a data stream from Marketing Cloud Intelligence? Go to the Data Streams List. Select the data streams to delete. Click Delete.
To do this, you need to have a Marketing Cloud Administrator role. Go to parent Business Unit. Go to Audience Builder Contact Builder. Click Contacts Configuration in the top menu. Enable the process in the Contact Delete section. Configure suppression period by clicking Manage Settings (default is two days). Save.
The customers Contact limit is 75,000.
Delete all contacts from List or Data Extension​ Go to parent Business Unit. Go to Audience Builder Contact Builder. Click All Contacts in the top menu. Without selecting any contact, click the trash icon. Click Delete contacts from list / data extension depending on your needs.
You can delete up to one million records.
