When you void a transaction in QuickBooks, you still have a record of the transaction, but it wont affect your account balances or reports. When you delete a transaction in QuickBooks, the transaction is completely erased from your books, and it wont appear on any reports or in any accounts.
Remove a credit from an invoice Heres how you can remove a credit note from an invoice if it is wrongly applied. To display the transaction history, press Ctrl + H. Double-click the invoice and select Apply Credits. On the Previously Applied Credits window, clear the selection for credit.
Can I retrieve a deleted invoice in QuickBooks? Run the Voided/Deleted Transactions Report by selecting Reports and then Accountant. From here, you should be able to see the detail of the invoice in question. You can add columns for more information on this report as well. You cannot restore the deleted invoice.
To permanently delete the sales receipt from your files, click Edit and Delete Sales Receipt. Right-clicking in the Bill To field will void the receipt. Click Save and then Void Receipt. The receipt is now considered paid.
To begin, locate the sales receipt and click it. By clicking the sales receipt, new options will become available. Well see Delete, Edit, and Cancel. We click delete, and then on the dialog box that pops up, well click yes to confirm the deletion.
Once you delete or void a sales order, you cant undo it. But dont worry, you can still view and clone them. When you clone a deleted or voided sales order, QuickBooks creates a copy of it in its prior status.
delete credit note From QuickBooks Online, navigate to the Sales tab. Scroll down and find the customer whose Credit Note youll be deleting, and click their name. Find the transaction in the list below and click to open it. On the Credit Memo screen, click More at the bottom and select Delete.
In the Money in section, select Sales receipts or Invoice payments. Select the sales receipt or invoice payment that you want to edit. Select Edit ✎. Make changes, then select Save.
