Once a title with a lien has been processed (either by normal electronic processing or by DMV), a paper title will be sent to the lien holder instead of a consumer. If a lender has signed up to receive titles electronically with a service provider, they will receive an electronic title record via the service provider.
How can I remove the lien from my title? You may apply for a new title at any Missouri license office. You must submit the docHubd lien release (copy or original), your current title (if in your possession) and pay an $8.50 title fee and a $6 processing fee.
For vehicle owners, Wisconsin titles will be delivered to all lien holders: in-state, out-of-state, lending institutions, and/or individuals who are listed as a secured party (lien holder) on the Wisconsin title. If you already have your title (even if it lists a lien holder), nothing changes. You can keep it.
​You may bring the application and lien release to any DMV customer service center offering title and registration services for immediate processing. There is a $5 counter service fee for processing done at the DMV customer service center.
If you want to remove a lien from your property, you need to do one of two things: 1) have the contractor record a release of the lien or 2) file an appeal to have the lien released.
How do you get a lien removed from a car title? Once your car loan is completely paid off, obtain a car title lien release from your lender so your state BMV or DMV can put the car title in your name.
If the vehicle title indicates a lien for the previous owner, the lien must be released on the title. If the lien has not been released on the title, you will need to submit a Lien Release form with an original signature (no photocopies or faxes) that has been completed by the lienholder.
Apply by mail A completed Wisconsin Title and License Plate Application (MV1). Use this online MV1 Application to pre-fill the application and calculate fees or download MV1. Included will be a summary sheet explaining how to submit all documents and payment. This form must be signed by the current owner on record.
