Use Form 1040X to create an amended return, which you must mail to the IRS. After you remove your children from your return, each child will then be able to claim a personal exemption. Select Update next to the type of K-1 you initially entered (partnership/LLC, S corp, or estate/trust). On the K-1 Summary screen, select Delete next to the K-1 you want to remove. Answer Yes on the following screen. Select Done.

Desktop Versions - Deleting Form or Return From within your TaxAct Desktop program, open a return you want to keep (an open return cannot be deleted). From within a return, click File in the upper menu bar. Click Delete Return. In the dialog box that appears, click the file you want to delete, then click Open.
