In this lesson, were going to write code to delete a node from binary search tree. In most data structures deletion is tricky. In case of binary search trees too, its not so straightforward. So lets first see what all complications we may have while trying to delete a node from binary search tree. I have drawn a binary search tree of integers here. As we know in a binary search tree for each node value of all nodes in its left subtree is lesser and value of all nodes right subtree is greater. For example, in this tree if Ill pick this node with value 5 then we have 3 and 1 in its left subtree which are lesser and we have 7 and 9 in its right subtree which are greater, and you can pick any other node in the tree and this property will be true else the tree is not a BST. Now when we need to delete a node, this property must be conserved. Lets try to delete some nodes from this example tree and see if we can rearrange these things and conserve the property of binary search tree or n

BST is a tree in which every node in the left subtree have value lesser than the root node and nodes in the right subtree have value greater than the root node. To delete a node in a BST: Find the node to be deleted. Remove it and replace it with its successor/predecessor and update the BST.
Delete function is used to delete the specified node from a binary search tree. However, we must delete a node from a binary search tree in such a way, that the property of binary search tree doesn't violate. There are three situations of deleting a node from binary search tree.
Approach: Recursion Compare the value of key with the value of root. If the key > root -> value, recursively traverse the right subtree. If key < root -> value, recursively traverse the left subtree. While traversing if key == root->value, we need to delete this node: If the node is a leaf, make root = NULL. ... Return root.
You use DELETE to remove a document from an index. You must specify the index name and document ID. You cannot send deletion requests directly to a data stream. To delete a document in a data stream, you must target the backing index containing the document.
If a syslog node is removed, it is only removed from the node list. If another log from that device is received, the node will be re-entered into the node list.
Algorithm Create a new BST node and assign values to it. insert(node, key) i) If root == NULL, return the new node to the calling function. ii) if root=>data < key. call the insert function with root=>right and assign the return value in root=>right. ... Finally, return the original root pointer to the calling function.
Delete a node from a binary tree shrinks the tree from the rightmost bottom. That means if you delete a node from a binary tree, it will be replaced by the rightmost bottom node.
To delete the index, you must roll over the data stream so a new write index is created. You can then use the delete index API to delete the previous write index.
Here we will use recursion to delete all nodes of a binary tree one by one....Let "root" be the pointer to the root node of binary tree to be deleted. Recursion termination condition : If root is equal to NULL, return. Recursively, delete left sub tree. Recursively, delete right sub tree. Delete root node.
Follow the below steps to solve the problem: If the root is NULL, then return root (Base case) If the key is less than the root's value, then set root->left = deleteNode(root->left, key) If the key is greater than the root's value, then set root->right = deleteNode(root->right, key) Else check. ... Return.
