Navigate to the list Click on Settings Select list settings. On the List Settings page, click on Permissions for this list. On the permissions page, if the list inherits permissions from the parent, click on the Stop inheriting Permissions button to break the permission inheritance.
This removes all unique permissions from the list and inherits permissions from its parent. All users with unique permissions will inherit the permissions of the parent object, such as site, library, or folder.
Delete an existing permission set From the list of Permission Sets, click the Del action before the Permission Set Label that you want to delete. Click Ok on the warning message that appears.
Turning off inheritance is often a safer and easier way to restrict access to a specific sub-folder inside a Project folder (parent folder) while still allowing access to the rest of the sub-folders within the Project folder. Removing permissions is useful when you need to completely revoke a user or groups access.
Under Multi-account permissions, choose Permission sets. Select the permission set that you want to delete, and then choose Delete. In the Delete permission set dialog box, type the name of the permission set to confirm deletion, and then choose Delete.
Break permission inheritance in SharePoint To break inheritance and assign unique permissions, follow these steps: Go to the list, library, or survey and open it.
