Deleting custom fields Navigate to your project. In the top-right, click to open the menu. In the menu, click Settings to access the project settings. Click the name of the custom field you want to delete. Next to the fields name, click to open the menu. Click Delete field.
Under the metakey column, you should see the custom field names that you see in Gutenberg post editor. Simply click Delete and confirm to remove the entry from your database.
Deleted fields are removed from any AppExchange package(s), so youll need to re-add the field to the package/s. Relationship fields are converted to lookup fields upon deletion, so youll need to edit and restore any master-detail relationships.
First, heres a quick recap on how we delete fields in Salesforce. Simply navigate to the object: go to Setup, followed by Object Manager, and [Object Name]. Then go to Fields Relationships and find your field. Click the drop down to the right, followed by Delete.
When you delete a custom field, all of the field history data is deleted and changes are no longer tracked. A background process periodically runs that cleans up metadata associated with deleted custom fields.

Once youve deleted a custom field, any associated data will no longer appear in your reports and the field will be removed as a filter option.
When you dont need a field in a custom object anymore, you can delete it. On the Fields tab, click Field Actions and Delete Field. Make sure you really want to delete the field before you pull the trigger! Click Delete.
