Blind recruitment is the process of removing any and all identification details from your candidates resumes and applications. It helps your hiring team evaluate people on their skills and experience instead of factors that can lead to biased decisions.
First and foremost, the individual redacting information should remove all candidate names, as well as any other personally identifying or protected information to the extent possible (email addresses, location, or other contact info; pictures; citizenship status; etc.).
With respect to applications, the law requires you to keep all job applications of those who werent hired for at least four years. Keep applications from those who are hired for the duration of employment plus four years.
Personal details such as name, social media links, and any photos are usually removed from redacted resumes. This information is usually removed because it can point to identifying factors about the person, such as gender, ethnicity, and age.
Remove Personal Contact Information You should redact a resume when you dont want the recruiters to gain much information about confidential information. When all the sensitive and personal information from the resume gets removed, it will help recruiters decide based on your work experience and skills.
Navigate to Candidates and select the candidate youd like to delete. On the candidates profile, click See more under the Tools section. Select Delete Candidate to delete this candidate from Greenhouse Recruiting.
Deciding what to omit from your resume involves prioritizing relevance and impact. Eliminate information that doesnt align with the job youre targeting. Outdated or irrelevant job positions, skills not applicable to the new role, and unnecessary personal details should be removed.
