In the Issues UI, select Custom fields option and then click on Create custom fields button. Afterward, select Select List (cascading) field type to create/setup your new custom field.
When configuring cascading elements, you will need to refer to a lookup table that contains fields that represent a relationship between parent and child values. For instance, a State field can serve as the parent value for several corresponding child values such as County, City, and ZIP Code.
Cascading index fields contain a list of values that is dependent on a selection in a different field. A separate filter project is set up for the data in the cascade fields. Up to 5 related drop-down lists can be configured using a single filter project.
One of these custom field types is Cascading fields. You can use these to create conditional fields with two lists: a parent list of values and a child list of values dependent on what is selected in the parent list. You need to be a Jira administrator to create and configure a cascading field.
In the Issues UI, select Custom fields option and then click on Create custom fields button. Afterward, select Select List (cascading) field type to create/setup your new custom field.
Go to Jira Administration Issues. Select Custom fields from the menu in the Fields section. Click Add custom field. Select one of the dynamic fields from the list (in the advanced section). Click Next. Configure the selection criteria for the field: Name and Description (optional). Click Create.
Add a conditional field to a service project Go to Settings ( ) Issues. From the navigation on the left, select Custom fields. Select Create custom field in the top-right corner. Choose Select List (cascading), and then select Next. Name your field, and add a description if desired. Select Create.
