The formula for calculating employee turnover is fairly straightforward you take the number of separations during a certain time period you divide that by the average number of employees during that same time period and then you multiply your result by 100 to get a percentage and you can report that percentage but there are lots of nuances to take into consideration like different employee types how do you account for full-time versus part-time or employees who are on a leave of absence so I created an employee turnover calculation workbook that you can download Ill include a link in the description below this video if youre interested in purchasing it you can download this and it will show you everything that you need to know to accurately and consistently calculate track and report on employee turnover for your organization lets take a look at the different tabs that are included in this workbook so as I mentioned the way to calculate employee turnove

Creating a Calculated Field Comment Its pretty simple to add a comment to a calculated field. Simply put two forward slashes in front of whatever text you want to save as a comment, and Tableau will ignore that text when it is evaluating the syntax of the calculated field.
Tableau Community (Employee) asked a question. Right click that calculated field in the data window and select Field Properties -- Number Format and select Currency (or Currency Custom). Hope that helps!
Add comments In the toolbar above a view, click the comments button. In the Comments pane at right, enter your remarks. If youd like to notify others about the comment, include an @mention. If youve filtered the view, click the snapshot icon to share an interactive image that highlights the data youre describing.
In order to single line comment, simply add a // to the start of the line and write some text. Note: // doesnt have to be at the very start of the text box. You will notice that the text becomes grey, this means that Tableau recognises this as a comment and it will be ignored.
One of the ways to add comments is using the double-forward slash (//) before your calculation to add single-line comments. Note: adding this double-forward slash will render that piece of text in gray color and therefore will be ignored in the actual calculation.
Follow below steps and also Attached workbook with solution. Create a New Sheet. Drag your calculated field to Filter shelf and change to Only Relevant values. Duplicate Calculated field and drag to filter shelf Exclude Null.
To enter a comment in a calculation, type two forward slashes //. See Add comments to a calculation for more information. Multi-line comments can be added by typing /* to start the comment and */ to end it.
Instead of going to the Analysis menu, right click on the field itself in the Dimension or Measures section and select Delete.
