Yes. In other words, any HTTP request message is allowed to contain a message body, and thus must parse messages with that in mind. Server semantics for GET, however, are restricted such that a body, if any, has no semantic meaning to the request.
a message-body is explicitly forbidden in responses to HEAD requests (section 9, and 9.4 specifically) a message-body is explicitly forbidden in 1xx (informational), 204 (no content), and 304 (not modified) responses (section 4.3)
The delete request returns any of the three types of response codes, i.e., 202, 204, and 200. The delete() method used with path or pathParams deletes the request. To verify the deletion, you may use assertion or any other relevant code as required.
If a DELETE method is successfully applied, there are several response status codes possible: A 202 ( Accepted ) status code if the action will likely succeed but has not yet been enacted. A 204 ( No Content ) status code if the action has been enacted and no further information is to be supplied.
What is HTTP DELETE method? The DELETE method requests that the origin server remove the association between the target resource and its current functionality. . i.e. HTTP DELETE method deletes the specified resource at the origin of server. The DELETE request message has no defined semantics.
1. Delete without the resource identifier. In the above case, calling operation N times will delete N resources hence DELETE is not idempotent in this case.
To send a request body with an Axios DELETE request, you should set the data option. Remember that the 2nd parameter to axios. delete() is the Axios options, not the request body. You cant pass the request body as the 2nd parameter like you can with axios.
The POST method submits an entity to the specified resource, often causing a change in state or side effects on the server. The PUT method replaces all current representations of the target resource with the request payload. The DELETE method deletes the specified resource.
Idempotent Methods in REST POST Creates a new resource. POST is not idempotent and it is not safe. GET Retrieves a resource. HEAD Retrieves a resource (without response body). PUT Updates/replaces a resource. PATCH Partially updates a resource. DELETE Deletes a resource. TRACE Performs a loop-back test.
We dont support the Request body with the DELETE method. It does allow you to pass HTTP Query Parameters.
