You can definitely do this in PROD provided that the custom field(s)/object(s) are not referenced by anything that you cant change directly in PROD: Apex class.
Heres how: Go to the Gear icon on the top menu. Choose Custom form styles under Your Company. Tick Edit on the form template you want to change. Tap Content. Select the Header part in the sample form. Under Display, click the Custom field link. Remove the checkmark on it. Press Done.
Remove a field from a folder, project, or space Navigate to the relevant folder, project, or space. Open the custom field management panel. In the list, right-click the custom field. Select Remove from this folder/project.
