hi and welcome students in this computer fundamentals tutorial Ill be showing you how to delete files from your operating system lets get started so youll see that Im using a Windows 10 operating system for this however Im going to explain the differences between this and a Mac as well so lets get started here youll see that on your desktop in the top left usually youll have a recycling bin a lot of people think that when you delete files from Windows 10 that it automatically deletes from your computer but that is not really the case typically what will happen is if I choose a file lets say I choose this one right here Windows 10 PNG this is an image file if I delete this by pressing the Delete key or by right-clicking and going down here to delete its going to disappear from here now if this was a really large file and I was say trying to delete it to save some space on my computer well deleting it from here isnt really going to do too much what its going to do is turn it
