hi iamp;#39;m maya from tailscale here to talk about aqua tags apples in tail scale are how you define what devices can talk to what other devices is part of your tail net aqua tags allow you to assign tags to a device and then use that tag to restrict its access for example you might assign a tag prod to production servers then create an apple allowing the group sre to access devices with tag prod i can tag a device from the machines page or include an aqua tag as part of an authentication key when i spin up a new device i have an off key here with a demo tag to use it on my server all i have to do is tail scale up and specify the off key connect it this device will connect to my network with the apple tag already applied that means that servers can have appropriate access as soon as they come up check out tailskill.com to get started

* in ACL Means all the table and all fields. You applied ACL in all tables and all the fields in these tables. Table. * is a field level ACL which gives Access to all field on that table.
Network Access Control List Meaning. A network access control list (ACL) is made up of rules that either allow access to a computer environment or deny it. In a way, an ACL is like a guest list at an exclusive club. Only those on the list are allowed in the doors.
If the ACL does not contain any rule, the first rule is numbered 0. Whenever the step changes, the rules are renumbered, starting from 0. For example, if there are five rules numbered 5, 10, 13, 15, and 20, changing the step from 5 to 2 causes the rules to be renumbered 0, 2, 4, 6, and 8.
--None--: Grant access to records and all fields in the records. *: Grant access to all fields where there is no field-specific Access Control.
These ACLs can filter packets based on their source, destination, port, or protocol. An extended ACL can have incoming rules that block all UDP traffic while accepting TCP packets. The ACLs outgoing rules can further filter packets to only pass those that came from certain destinations.
Table.* is a field level ACL which gives Access to all field on that table. Table.none is a row level ACL which allows you to access records. Both are table level ACL, But the thing is * is a wild card entry.
The Name field in an Access Control specifies the table records and a field to protect. The field list has a --None-- option and a * option. --None--: Grant access to records and all fields in the records. *: Grant access to all fields where there is no field-specific Access Control.
Entries within your ACL are based on the direction of the flow of traffic from the point of view of the routers interface. This means that ingress traffic is that which comes from a network to the routers interface. Conversely, egress traffic is that which flows from the routers interface to a network.
