hi everyone anthony morganti here in this video iamp;#39;m going to show you how you could use photoshop to darken the background behind a macro or behind a pet dog pet cat a person or in this case a bird this works great on macros of flowers or images of animals where you need to darken the background now i chose this image of the bird because itamp;#39;s just a bit more difficult because of the feather detail and i have to show you how to refine an edge here so i think youamp;#39;ll learn a little more because iamp;#39;m using this image okay now the first thing we need to do is we need to get a selection of the subject whether itamp;#39;s a flower a cat a dog a person or even a bird to select the subject get any selection tool so just hit the w key on your keyboard and youamp;#39;ll get one of these three tools and once you have one of those three tools at the top youamp;#39;ll see two buttons what we need to do is just click on select subject and when you do

So how do we expose LOG correctly? Expose to the right (meaning to the right of the histogram i.e slight over exposure). Use an 18 percent grey card. Send a normal REC 709 curve to the monitor/eye peice and expose that as you normally would.
What is log video? Log is short for logarithmic. A log picture profile on your camera uses a different type of gamma curve than a standard profile such as Rec. 709. The benefit of shooting in log is that your video files will have a higher dynamic range.
Shoot to the right; you will want to shoot a full stop to as many as two and a half stops overexposed when you are shooting a log. Shooting to the right will pull the shadows up and make it less likely that there is grain or noise in your shadows.
The many advantages of shooting in S-Log Shoot with a combination of S-Log and S-Gamut, and your material can retain a wider color gamut, dynamic range, and tonal range than with traditional techniques. This image information provides exceptional flexibility in color grading, as you give scenes the look you envisioned.
What is Log Footage? To put it simply, Logarithmic Footage, generally known as Log, is very flat footage but that contains more details of the scene its baking into the image. This kind of footage is not intended to be used without editing so it needs further alterations to be used as the final footage.
Shooting in LOG offers a much broader dynamic range and color depth compared to compressed video formats. While compressed formats are smaller in file size and easier to handle, they lose docHub image detail and color information during the compression process.
