The second line is called the test line. This line is the actual indicator of your ovulation status. If the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line, this means that the luteinizing hormone levels in your body are higher than usual and youre probably ovulating or about to begin ovulating.
Darker areas of skin (or an area that tans more easily) occurs when you have more melanin or overactive melanocytes.
An immediate dark positive result could mean that theres a high concentration of hCG in your urine, and the test is showing an immediate dark result due to the hormone level. One thing to note is that all home pregnancy tests are different and may detect hCG at different levels.
In fact, the control line is often darker than the test line. A lighter first line might also indicate that your urine is diluted. Many experts recommend testing first thing in the morning to avoid diluted urine. Sometimes the pregnancy tests second line is so faint, you can barely see it.
Second trimester Over the course of the second and third trimesters, the areolas often become larger and darker. Darkening areolas are likely to result from hormonal changes. Often, the areola returns to its prepregnancy color after breastfeeding, but it sometimes remains a shade or two darker than it was originally.
In many cases, when you are using a First Response test, the test line may be a fainter pink than the control line, which is sometimes quite dark. A test line can be faint pink if your urine is diluted or its very early in your pregnancy. Not-to-worry, though.
Darkened areas on the skin are the main symptoms of hyperpigmentation. Patches can vary in size and develop anywhere on the body. The biggest risk factors for general hyperpigmentation are sun exposure and inflammation, as both situations can increase melanin production.
2 Considering that pregnancy tests detect hCG in your urine, its normal for the test line to get darker as your first trimester progresses.
