today weamp;#39;re going to be looking at and solving Shadow problems in Unreal Engine 5.2 now Iamp;#39;m currently in the engine Iamp;#39;ve opened up an old scene some of you who have been on the channel for a while May recognize this one there is a few problems here when it comes to Shadows so this area here that Iamp;#39;ve selected is a media plane with footage on it Iamp;#39;m using an alpha Channel which is supposed to cut around me and allow light to pass through all of the completely transparent areas thatamp;#39;s currently not happening because whatamp;#39;s actually happening you can see here this is a very hard Line Shadow being casted by the entire plane and thatamp;#39;s because the transparent or translucent objects donamp;#39;t cast correct shadows in Ray tracing Mode still the only way to solve that currently is to using masked material mode so letamp;#39;s dive into the material it looks more complicated than it is this is the only part that we really need
