Do not invert QR Code Colors. We see this mistake a lot. QR codes with a black or dark background and a white or lighter foreground may look great in some design scenarios, but they cant be scanned with all QR Code scanner apps.
Thus, QR codes cannot be used to encode arbitrary binary data directly. The implication being that it would work if only we could fix those decoders so they stop trying to convert data to text.
To efficiently store data, QR codes use four standardized modes of encoding: (i) numeric, (ii) alphanumeric, (iii) byte or binary, and (iv) kanji.
QR Codes do not have to be standard black and white in order to be scanned. Adding color is the easiest way to make them lively and draw attention from consumers. You can incorporate your brand or campaign theme depending on the goal or content you want to provide.
Types of QR code The version used determines how data can be stored and is called the input mode. It can be either numeric, alphanumeric, binary, or kanji.
A QR code has a maximum symbol size of 177177 modules. It can contain as much as 31,329 squares which can encode 3KB of data. This means a QR code can store data the size of a total of 7,089 numeric characters or 4,269 alphanumeric ones.
QR Code is capable of handling all types of data, such as numeric and alphabetic characters, Kanji, Kana, Hiragana, symbols, binary, and control codes. Up to 7,089 characters can be encoded in one symbol.
The data stored in a QR code can include website URLs, phone numbers, or up to 4,000 characters of text. QR codes can also be used to: Link directly to download an app on the Apple App Store or Google Play. Authenticate online accounts and verify login details.
