Set your cameras ISO to a low level, from 100 to 125. This decreases the cameras sensitivity to light, which will darken your photos background and remove unwanted texture. Adjust your shutter speed to compensate for these changes.
Open Camera . In low-light situations, Night mode turns on automatically. Tap. at the top of the screen to turn Night mode off and on. To experiment with Night mode, tap , tap. Tap the Shutter button, then hold your iPhone still to take your shot.
Learn to: Open your aperture to let in natural light. Use a high (but not too high) ISO to expose images properly. Add a flash or fill light when shooting subjects in the dark. Try a tripod to stay in focus and stay away from the shakes. Make night photography not just an art but also an adventure.
Start at a medium power setting and take a photo. If your subject is to dark, increase the flash power. Too bright, lower the flash power. Once you have the flash power dialed in, now it should just be a matter of adjusting the ISO for the background as it gets darker.
Portrait lighting setups such as split lighting is a very effective way of creating suspense in dark places. Position your subject close to a light source side on. Ask them to lower their chin but keep their eyes on the camera. Use a smaller aperture (F/8 for example) to increase the contrast in the light quality.
